Matt Larsen came to Sierra Nordic from the North coast – Lake Superior, the Birkie, Packer football, and pasties.

He started skiing while in the military and since then has been an advocate for all things sliding on snow, from helping our customers select the best gear for Nordic skiing, to getting a superb fitting boot or tuning their skis. Between Nordic skiing, backcountry touring, snowshoeing, and winter camping he spends 100 days a season out there. In the dry season he can be found biking on the roads or trails around Lake Tahoe, or building custom wheels for bikes through his business Matthew Larsen Wheelbuilding.
