Backcountry Equipment Sierra Nordic

For the 08-09 Ski season Sierra Nordic will be expanding it's backcountry offerings! We will also have a metal edged ski in rental that you can take off trail!

Rottefella Backcountry "BC" indicates that the bind/boot interface is wider,heavier and not compatible with standard NNN 2, 3 and 4 bindings. These match well with our metal edged backcountry skis.

ALPINA BC 1550 BOOT

The 1550 BC is Alpina's mid level backcountry boot. The cuff is higher and stiffer than in past incarnations of the 1550. It offers light weight, great control and additional warmth. We feel it should be matched with a ski no wider than 65mm, making it a perfect match for the Madshus Voss ski. Use NNN BC binding. The 1550 BC LADIES offers additional warmth and of course a narrower fit! Alpina 1560

The Alpina BC 1560 with an articulated cuff is one step up in ankle support and warmth, from the Alpina BC 1550. It features Alpina's Alpitex waterproof/breathable membrane. The 1560 is insulated with Thinsulate as well.

This would work well with the Atomic Sierra Posigrip Ski, especially for those who are actively improving their turning ability and are out all day.

ALPINA BC 2050

The Alpina BC 2050 is the undisputed heavyweight champion of "system" boots, meaning it's not a 3-pin or cable. Higher, sturdier articulated cuff than the 1560. The 2050 used on the Atomic Rainier Positrack Ski, would be a fantastic, light, set up for high mileage, steeper adventures!
