Swix

CH stands for Hydrocarbon. This category has no fluorocarbon material in the blends. They are 100% high performance hydrocarbon paraffins. Although they can be looked upon as an economical racing wax group, the colder waxes perform very well alone, and the warmer waxes make an acceptable base layer for Cera F.

Their colors and temperature ranges coincide with the HF and LF Waxes. The CH waxes can be distinguished from the LF waxes by their darker shade of color.

• CH4: -10ºC to -32ºC (14ºF to -25ºF).
  CH4 is slightly harder than HF4 and LF4. Can be used alone or mixed with other LF or HF waxes to increase durability on aggressive snow. In dry conditions can it be used up to -5ºC. (Is often used alone in World Cup Racing.) Should be scraped while still warm. Recommended iron temperature setting of 150ºC.
• CH6: -6ºC to -12ºC (21ºF to 10ºF).
  For common cold conditions. Contains also some synthetic wax, which makes it durable in aggressive snow. Good training wax alone. It offers good glide plus base protection at an economical price. Recommended iron temperature setting of 140ºC.
• CH7: -2ºC to -8ºC (28ºF to 18ºF).
  CH7 is a good general purpose pre-wax and travel wax because its range for use falls in the middle of the Cera Nova system. CH7 makes a good base bonding wax for either warmer or colder waxes applied later. For summer and glacier skiing and riding it provides good glide plus good base protection especially when mixed with CH3. Recommended iron temperature setting of 135ºC.
• CH8: +1ºC to -4ºC (34ºF to 25ºF).
  A very good, reliable and economical racing wax, as well as a general base prep wax and travel wax for “cold” skis. Recommended iron temperature setting of 120ºC.
• CH10: +10ºC to 0ºC (50ºF to 32ºF).
  For very wet, saturated snow. This is the Worlds most frequently used wax for base prep/saturation and as travel wax for warm skis. Recommended iron temperature setting of 110ºC.

+20°C to -30°C

This is the ideal brush when applying any F4 product. White felt for spreading the F4 product evenly on the base and for polishing. The nylon for brushing and removing excess wax from the structure. This process can increase the durability of any F4 product.

The KR-Line has been the Superior Klister Line in Classic Cross-Country skiing for years.

Swix offers a complete line of klisters ranging from very cold and coarse snow to extreme wet conditions. The KR line is designed for top level performance, but useful for recreational touring as well and is produced with only the finest raw materials available.

• KR20: -3°C to -25°C (27°F to -13°F).
  This is mainly a Base Klister and has high resistance against ice and hard coarse snow. To be used as the first layer for better adhesion of the other klisters to the base. Always apply indoors with a waxing iron approx. 110°C (230°F). Only cover the sanded grip zone. Heat the tube slightly for easier application. By “edging” the waxing iron you get a controlled equal distribution of the klister.
• KR30: 0°C to -15°C (32°F to 5°F).
  For coarse snow/hard tracks and icy conditions. It is excellent on hard packed coarse cold snow, but can also be an alternative to KR20 BASE as base klister since it is easier to apply. It is also often used as the “in between” klister on top of KR20 BASE. ICE is rarely used as the final layer in a ski race due to the preparation of the tracks. For general skiing on cold mornings after it has been wet the day before, it is a highly useful product.
• KR35: +1°C to -4°C (34°F to 25°F).
  For conditions around 0°C (32°F) and slightly colder. Good mid layer klister on top of green klister. Top klister, red or universal, will then not slide backwards.
• KR50: +3°C to -4°C (37°F to 25°F).
  FLEXI differs from the other klisters by being made for more varied snow, from fine to coarse. The ideal range is slightly on the colder side, but gives also grip above freezing (32°F). It is the klister that can take the most fine grained snow of all klisters in the market. The reason is that FLEXI contains silver. Compared to K21N Silver Universal it is slightly harder and can thus take colder and more fine grained snow.
• KR60: +5°C to 0°C (41°F to 32°F).
  Red klister for wet to moist snow, medium coarse snow. For changeable conditions right around freezing with the ideal range on the warm side.
• KR70: +12°C to +2°C (52°F to 36°F).
  Dark red klister for wet coarse snow. Used when the snow has a high water content such as slush. The AQUA is the softest among the Swix klisters and will thus handle coarse wet snow the best.

The Swix VR-waxes are fluorinated and made for top racing, but have also proved interesting for Recreational and Sport skiers because of good glide and a wider range.

These hard waxes are characterized by a high degree of flexibility, good kick and a minimum of glide friction. Each VR wax has two specified temperature ranges, one for falling and new fallen snow, characterized by sharp snow crystals with relatively strong penetration capacity, and one range for older new snow, when the crystals are rounded off and have less penetration power.

• VR30: Designed for cold to extremely cold conditions.
  New fallen snow: -7ºC to -20ºC (19ºF to -4ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: -10ºC to -30ºC (14ºF to -22ºF).
• VR40: For normal, subfreezing temperatures.
  New fallen snow: -2ºC to -8ºC (28ºF to 18ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: -4ºC to -12ºC (25ºF to 10ºF).
• VR45: A flexible wax for temperatures around freezing and colder.
  New fallen snow: 0ºC to -4ºC (32ºF to 25ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: -2ºC to -8ºC (28ºF to 18ºF).
• VR50: For moist to dry snow around freezing 0ºC (32ºF). When used below freezing, high humidity is required.
  New fallen snow: +1ºC to -2ºC (34ºF to 28ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: 0ºC to -5ºC (32ºF to 23ºF).
• VR55: For slightly moist new snow around freezing, and for older transformed snow below freezing. It gives excellent kick without sacrificing glide.
  New fallen snow: +2ºC to 0ºC (36ºF to 32ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: 0ºC to -3ºC (32ºF to 27ºF).
• VR60: Designed for wet snow with little water content. When used below freezing high humidity is required.
  New fallen snow: +2ºC to 0ºC (36ºF to 32ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: +1ºC to -2ºC (34ºF to 28ºF).
• VR65: For moist snow. Excellent wax on fresh slightly wet to moist snow. When used below freezing high humidity is required, or old finegrained snow.
  New fallen snow: 0ºC to +3ºC (32ºF to 38ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: +1ºC to -1ºC (34ºF to 30ºF).
• VR70: For wet and moist new snow. Works also on wet transformed snow down to 0ºC (32ºF). Apply thicker if very wet.
  New fallen snow: +1ºC to +3ºC (34ºF to 38ºF).
  Transformed fine grained snow: 0ºC to +2ºC (32ºF to 36ºF).
• VR75: For wet snow, glazy tracks. Must be applied evenly. To be used in tracks only.
  New fallen snow: +2ºC to +5ºC (36ºF to 41ºF).
